injections and scans (diary #5)

Today I got gel injections in both my knees. Round 2/3 - next week is the last one. It is crazy the maintence that it requires to continue feeling Normal as a disabled person.

I am trying to figure out how to be ok with it. It's hard to accept that these injections make me have a little more physical down time for a few weeks so I can live a bit more pain free for the next 6-months. I'm lucky to have access to it.

I wish every day simple tasks did not feel so mentally exhausting for me. Just the process of getting in a car to go to the doctor, talking to the receptionist and the doctor, and riding back. It ends up very overwhelming for me in a way I can't quite describe.

There was a time this wasn't really the case, but I think my mental health has gotten to a point where these things feel challenging.

Regardless, today I tried to push past my discomfort and exhaustion to just continue doing things I needed/wanted to do today.

I spent some time drawing, I'm working on plans for sharing my art and growing on social media. I would really like to be able to sustain myself through some commission work and some print/reproducable work sales.

I also set up my scanner on my desk today, so I can easily transfer traditional work to digital - which has already helped my illustrative work flow immensely. I really prefer to draw and sketch and explore ideas with my traditional tools. I feel like the digital workspace is best for perfecting things - which makes it somewhat limiting for my creativity sometimes since I know I could alter every pixel individually.

I think I am going to have breakfast for dinner, we don't have much else right now.
